counting blessings

Sigh. Already, it is love.

Perfectly healthy, happily kicking away inside of me (right now!). And playing with the toes - so sweet to watch! Amazing how 10 minutes of a routine ultrasound appointment can make everything in life perfect again. We are grateful and ecstatic and so looking forward to meeting our new little one.

And my worries and frustrations are swept away as I count my blessings.

This morning I woke up with another idea for a little quilt in my head, and I've been itching to sew all day since. It is these times I get the notion in my head - "If I really get down to it, I can sew the entire quilt in one day - Addie can help!!!" Yeah, right! Usually I am so busy with everything else life brings that I never even begin. At least today we did some drawings of the idea, and even this feels like an accomplishment!

My head has been full of so many ideas lately, there are so many projects which I want to create. But I am beginning to become a little frustrated with it all. So many ideas, so little time to actually make them. Scrap papers with notes and drawings are littered all over my nightstand and workroom, with little to no movement on them. I feel like my brain is starting to overflow.

So I am planning on closing down my online stop in the coming week. Not that I have much to sell these days, but orders have been coming in a brisk steady flow, and any spare time I have is spent fulfilling orders. This is beginning to frustrate me, and I am growing more certain that I am not up for a Christmas rush this year. I am longing to have even just a little bit of time to work on some of the ideas whirring around in my head. If only I could get them out into reality!

another quickie giveaway

Hello! I am now looking for a good home for one of my handmade address files.

This file is in almost-perfect condition. It is made of ecologically harvested solid maple wood, and finished with a nice non-toxic satin finish. The only thing 'wrong' with this file is that it has a small rough patch on the back side of the top of the file. I actually don't mind it, but others may not so much and so it is not for sale.

Each of my address files is of my own original design, and are designed to be both timeless and very functional. They are filled up with 200 address cards, each of them cut and punched personally by me! (I can now cut these cards with my eyes closed) Many of the cards are patterned with my own designs and printed on recycled paper, some are solid-coloured cards, and some cards are cut from re-cycled cardstock such as vintage library book cards. Each file is numbered, personalised to the recipient, and made with a whole ton of time, care and love!

If you would like to have one this special address file to call your own (or give to a friend) please leave a comment and I will randomly pick a winner tomorrow evening (Saturday, November 6th, pacific time) This contest is open to anyone, anywhere in the world. Good Luck!

This contest has now ended. Thank you to everyone who entered and left a comment!
