blackberry summer

I love these beautiful summer evenings so much, when the sun heads off to sleep beyond the trees, and we are left within its soft, warm glow. To me, these times are almost perfect.
blackberry mouth by you.
little wild blackberry by you.
The blackberries are back and we have been picking! Each morning I ask Adelaide "what do you want to do today?" and most always she will respond: "pick blackberries!" (Or: "do paintings!")
I've been craving and cooking wild salmon lately (this recipe is phenomenal), and now all of these blackberries have me dreaming of a dish marrying the two. Perhaps, I will try something like this one? Salmon and blackberries together sounds so yummy to me right now...

handful by you.

I don´t believe how big Adelaide is.
I don´t believe she actually answers with her wishes for the day!

I have a two year old (a boy, OH SO SO DIFFERENT FROM A GIRL!!!(a have an elder daughter as well)) and I still don´t believe he even thinks!
Aren´t they supposed to be babies ´til age, let´s say, 22?

BTW, salmon and blackberries...mmmhh...OH YES.

Blackberries are one of the key memories that I have of being a child on Vancouver Island. Fighting the tall think brambles and those killer thorns, just to get at those sweet little berries...delicious! I often thought to myself when I was smaller "Do the blackberries not want us to pick them?" They seemed like some sort of forbidden fruit, what with the thorns and all...but I didn't care, I fought for them anyways! I have not been able to pick wild blackberries in many, many years. My entire family craves them. While my family lives in Northern Alberta and I in Northern Florida, we are sad to say that we have no wild blackberries to pick of our own. I am excited to see that someone shares the same warmth for blackberries. Looks like a lot of fun! Thank you for sharing Sharilyn and Adelaide! You always bring back such wonderful memories for me!

Your tags are beautiful and so is your little cutie. What a sweet child! The fact that people are willing to pay for the things you make says tons about your lovely work.

Oh how wonderful!! I still take my (now 11 yo) son blackberry picking in Oak Creek Canyon, just like we did when he was two. We just went a couple of weeks ago and then I went with a girlfriend last week and all she could say was how it brought back memories of going with her girls. She even made us hanging buckets to wear around our necks so we could have both hands free to pick berries!!
Addie's hairdo is growing in very nicely, btw.
