It's after 2 a.m, but I cannot sleep. As I've just spent the last couple of hours chasing down a mouse in our house, furniture moved all about, lights all bright, and with the 'help' of two very thrilled kitties.
And then depositing my new little brown friend in the dark quiet of the forest, frogs croaking all about us, and all the while wearing just a nightie and gumboots.
I am alert! I am ready! There is no sleep!

Ah, the still of the night. Sleep well.
we had a rather 'large' mouse, dare I say it, RAT in our house this last week. After destroying my doorstop, my oven-mits, some artwork made by my son and leaving a trail of mess, we got him....but not in the same way as you.
it's not quite that late or should i say early here...but i can relate a little. i ate a piece of too sweet cake too late at night and now i can't sleep despite how sleep deprived i am from my little guy's teething. time to turn off the computer and start counting sheep!
Perhaps you could get your hands on a yoga nidra cd - if you haven't heard about it, yoga nidra is a guided relaxtion (30mins of nidra = 4 hours of sleep)...fantastic when there is a mouse in the house...perfect for us mums too. x
